Our band has only been performing for a dozen years or so, but our set list
is maybe stretching the boundary a bit. Our late-set audiences tend to more
what The Count from Sesame Street might bemoan as "twenty somethings" and
while open to any honest music, few are what I'd call hard-core trad
devotees.
When younger musicians sit in, I tell them, "Imagine if The Beatles never
existed, and this music just continued to grow and flourish!"
Drom MARCH 11 (two sets 8pm-11pm)
- West End Blues - Joe Oliver (Eb)
- Who's Sorry Now? (Bb)
- When You're Smilin' (Bb)
- When I Grow Too Old To Dream (F)
- Skid Dat De Dat (C)
- La Vie En Rose (C)
- A Kiss To Build A Dream On (Eb)
- Someday You'll Be Sorry (Eb)
- Gut Bucket Blues (C)
- Ya To, Chto Nado (Bravo) / Moanin' (Bobby Timmins) (F-)
Mingus advised saving your best stuff for the second set, after everyone
has had a few…
- Dark Eyes (D-)
- Black Parade (Your Physics Enemy) (Eb)
- Centuries (Fall Out Boy) (G-)
- All of Me (John Legend) (F)
- Someone Like You (Adele) (Eb)
- Bennie And The Jets (Elton John) (C)
- Eye Of The Tiger (Survivor) (G-)
- Man In The Mirror (Stevie Wonder) (Eb)
- Goodbye Yellow Brick Road (Bb)
- Midnight In Moscow / Korobieniki (D-)
- I Will Survive (Gloria Gaynor) (C-)
Does it work? The room is usually packed and kitty is never lacking 😊 I
don't recall if this list allows attachments, but I could post an mp3 of
any of those more-outside tunes if anyone is interested, but be forewarned,
we can get pretty raw and wild by times 🤣
