                                Welcome to the Inaugural
                                Hot Jazz Jubilee Newsletter!  

                                We are proud to bring you the first in a series of newsletters to keep you updated on the Hot Jazz Jubilee, Sacramento's Premier End-of-Summer Celebration!  You are on our list either because you have attended the festival in the past, or because you have shown an interest in the music we celebrate. Don't worry, we won't inundate you with unwanted mail, and you may unsubscribe whenever you wish.

                                In case you have not heard, founder and Director of the Hot Jazz Jubilee, Ken McMurray, has retired from the festival and is now enjoying the sun and fun in Arizona. We wish him well in this next phase of his life, and are currently in search of a new Director.  Until then, we have a treasure trove of dedicated volunteers already hard at work.

                                You also have heard that the 2020 festival, like practically every other event this year, has been canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. We extend a heartfelt Thank You to all of you who purchased pre-sale badges last year for the 2020 festival and agreed to roll them over to 2021. As you can imagine, there are some monthly costs that we must continue to pay, and not having to refund badge sales allows us to keep the financial wheels turning. That's important, because we plan to come roaring back next year! So put the dates on your calendar - Sept 3rd thru 6th, 2021.

                                The HJJ Board of Directors have pledged to bring the bands that would have been performing this weekend back in 2021. The hotels have graciously allowed us to roll over our 2020 contracts, and badge pricing will remain the same. If you had a room reserved at the DoubleTree by Hilton for this year and have not yet canceled or rescheduled it, please let the hotel know ASAP.  HJJ has also changed the overflow hotel for 2021 to the Courtyard by Marriott Cal Expo. Hotel information is available on our website. 

                                In future newsletters, we hope to bring you interesting stories about bands and fans, some pictures and an occasional short video or two. If there is anything you want to know, please don't hesitate to contact us at info at hotjazzjubilee.com. 

                                We Need Sponsors!!  

                                As with most festivals and nonprofits, the Hot Jazz Jubilee relies heavily on donations and sponsorships to continue to bring in quality bands and musicians, and to make the festival the best it can be. We encourage you to consider being a donor or sponsor for the 2021 festival. If you donate before the end of the year, your donation will be tax-deductible for 2020. For sponsor levels and packages, please contact Patti Jones at patti at hotjazzjubilee.com.
