Announcing a fun, family oriented event from noon to 6PM tomorrow, Saturday, March 14th, at the Carmichael Elks Lodge, 5631 Cypress Ave., Carmichael.

It's a Celebration of Music, featuring five outstanding youth jazz bands from the Sacramento area. Admission for the event is only $5, and all proceeds will benefit a new youth program of the Sacramento Traditional Jazz Society and STJS Foundation, called InstrumentMatch.Jazz

If you have an old music instrument taking up space in the back of a closet or gathering dust in your garage, here’s your chance to clean the closet or garage, support a great cause, and get a tax deduction in the bargain!

The STJS/STJSF will refurbish your donated instrument and match it with a promising young musician who cannot afford to purchase one!

We are looking for instruments that are typically used in jazz bands, but will accept any and all.

Plus, if you bring your instrument donation to the Celebration of Music at the Carmichael Elks Lodge tomorrow from noon until 6pm, you will receive free admission to the concert.

So come on out! Hear some great jazz played by great young musicians and get a tax-deduction receipt for that old instrument!

Food and beverages will be available for sale, and raffle tickets will be sold. Please help us "pass the torch" of traditional jazz to the next generation of young musicians!

Thanks! from the STJS/STJSF Education Committee
