Just for the record, Cab Calloway did record "St. James Infirmary" but the "Hi-de-hi-de..." etc. routine was from his "Minnie the Moocher." I liked Trombone Shorty's version of St. James but thought he grafted the Calloway stuff on as a way of engaging the audience. That ain't no sin, but to me the gimmick wasn't worthy of his original treatment of St. James.
