Could you give details of the record, Lindsay?
Keith Smith and Chez Chesterman are about the closest to Red Allen - as
close as anybody is likely to get! And Acker is not only a great player,
but also nostalgia - his was teh first western band I heard as a teenager.
BTW, when I told Chez that he reminded me of Red Allen, he replied: "You
couldn't have given me a greater compliment. Red Allen is my idol; he is
my god!"
