That happens a lot!  And, then the bosses say to the band "keep it

We recently did a gig in the middle of a blocked off street, for the opening
night of the local fiestas.  There was a huge "rock & roll" stage built with
monster speaker stacks & all of those swirling, sweeping, dancing lights +
lots of smoke to create the light shadows behind us, etc.

Still, we had a large, seated audience, plus all of the people along each
side of the block at outdoor bars, + the folks sitting on their own
balconies along the block, who received our music well.

The sound guy got our sound so quickly in our on-stage monitors that I
didn't even bother going out front to see what the audience would hear.  I
figured he knew what he was doing to be able to get our on-stage sound so
right, so left it at that.

Good gig, but still hitting over 90 degrees F at 10:30pm.  We finished at
midnite.
