[Dixielandjazz] LP or CD?

I hardly ever listen to songs, Paul, only to performances.
Sure, I HEAR songs, and I am not too wild about overplayed warhorses, but I
prefer "obscure" tunes, or current pops played as jazz (in Wilbur de Paris'
words - "anything that can be jazzed on...").
I do care what the medium is - you can never get the right quality on your
iPhone (I don't even know how to use a smartphone) or even your computer,
albeit if you connect it to a good sound system the results are better than
on computer speakers.
Even cassettes sound better (not equal with "cleaner") than CDs or other
digitalized media.  The reel tapes (I wish I coul find a good quality
player here - buying it from the States doesn't make sense) sound better
than cassettes, and despite the hiss both sound better than CDs, not to
mention minaturized media.
