[Dixielandjazz] Jazz en Tête

Hi all,

Our Jazz en Tête festival (www.jazzentete.com) starts next Tuesday. I 
am assistant stage manager and enjoy this festival oodles. The program 
is generally a more modern festival, but this year, we will have 
Catherine Russell. She has got to be the most trad/swing that we have 
ever had. We have had the likes of Nicholas Payton and Terrance 
Blanchard, both from NOLA, but lean towards the modern sound. I have no 
problem with modern. This year we have over five days :

Kenny Garrett, Ravi Coltrane, Joe Lovano, Dave Liebman, Irving Acao - 
saxophones ;
Phil Markowitz, Graig Taborn, Vernell Brown, Leo Montana, Manuel Valera 
- piano ;
Kevin Eubanks - guitar ;
Dave Holland, Cecil McBee, Corcoran Holt, Felipe Cabrera - double bass 
;
Eric Harland, Billy Hart, Jeff 'Tain' Watts, Mc Clenty Hunter, Lukmil 
Perez - drums ;
Rudy Bird - percussions.

Eric Harland is my favoriye living drummer. What a monster. This year, 
there is no brass. What a shame.

With Catherine we have friends Mark Shane on piano, Matt Munisteri on 
guitare and Tal Ronen on upright. Their opening act is Cuban piano 
superstar Gonzalo Rubalcaba.

It will be a fun festival as is every year. I'll be putting photos up 
on the festivals Facebook page for those interested.

FAVOR TIME : Does anyone have email addresses for Catherine Russell, 
Mark Shane, Matt Munisteri, Tal Ronen or any of the other musicians? I'd 
like to ask for a small care package. Food is great in France, but there 
is no natural peanut butter.

Just thought I'd throw that out there and see what bites.
