Richard Shook mentioned the Welk band playing some swinging tunes. Here in Southern California, Welk was sometimes referred to as "Lawrence of Palladium". I went to the Hollywood Palladium a couple times in the 1960's: Good players! No string section, only one vocalist. The band was very tight. Loads of swingin' charts, it was as good as any big name swing band, and NOT the commercial Welk sound we hear on television.

OKOM music: On youtube, Welk's Hotsy Totsy Boys do Dippermouth Blues. Pete Fountain, George Thow, and others do an impressive job when they play that thing.
