There's an interesting online resource of items relating to the recording and live
performance of "The Real Ambassadors" from the Brubeck Collection at the University
of the Pacific. It includes photos, texts and audio files.
"The Real Ambassadors" was recorded for Columbia Records but was performed in public
only one time at the Monterey Jazz Festival fifty years ago. With a cast that included
Louis Armstrong, Carmen McRae, Lambert, Hendricks & Bavan and the Brubeck Quartet,
it was a one of a kind creation.
