Considering that Carey died in 1948, he wasn't very likely to have
played in 1959!

That seems to have come from the Geprge Lewis (and perhaps Bunk) band.
 Must have been the practice in New Orleans, and spread.

They were just great!  Never been to Beverley Cavern, but I like the
Hangover recordings.

Lucky you!  I never got the chance to hear Ory live!
