Web Sites and Stories Too Great To Be Missed
For more information on Bunny Berigan and the Bunny Berigan Jazz Jubilee these are two web sites that are simply too great to miss.
The first is Phyllis Ger Recalls Her Father, Mort Stulmaker. Mort played and recorded with Bunny Berigan. Read this story by his daughter Phyllis Ger, who is a jewelry designer and also volunteers at the Louis Armstrong House Museum. She will be in Fox Lake, WI for the Bunny Berigan Jazz Jubilee, May 18 – 20, and will be displaying her beautiful jewelry. Many of her pieces from her Fresh Meadows, New York Studio are made with Swarovski crystals. To read her story go to http://jazzlives.wordpress.com/2012/04/28/phyllis-ger-recalls-her-father-mort-stulmaker/
The second site you do not want to miss is that written by Christopher Popa. Christopher has been employed as a Music Librarian in Chicago since 1998. Before that he had a 12-yar career in radio broadcasting, including as an on-air disc jockey and music director. He has authored feature articles, discographies, liner notes, and concert reviews of the big bands for various publications and record labels. He has also hosted numerous big band performances. His most recent “Big Band News” of May 2012 talks about Bunny Berigan and the Jazz Jubilee.
