The attribution of this quote about "blues is blues", to Alcide  
(Yellow) Nunez may be a classic case of BIXING.

I have found another source that attributes it to one Professor  
"Slaps" White.

That source is from the book "Jazz In Print" - An anthology of  
selected early readings in jazz by Karl Koenig reprints a copy of an  
article in Variety, Oct 19, 1917 about the court case. See below site:
