Have to agree with the court Bill - to my ears the whole composition is built around the opening phrase - nice try Jolson. If you get the chance listen to Johnny Bastable's band on the Joy label play Avalon - the Colyer band without Colyer. If not then Louis with the Dukes - Louis Armstrong's solo will bring a smile.
