[Dixielandjazz] LA Area Jazz Meet 1/30/11

Usually, this club meets on the first Sunday of the month, but in February, 
 that date has been pre-empted by a bunch of very large men so this Sunday  
(1/30/11) the Valley Jazz Club meets 1:00 to 5:00 PM   at the Elk's  Lodge, 
20917 Osborne, Canoga Park CA.
 
The feature attraction this month is Wally Holmes' Yankee Wailers, with the 
 leader (who is the director of the Sweet & Hot Music Festival on Labor Day 
 weekend) on trumpet, and vocals if coaxed;  Jack Widmark, sax;  Vinnie  
Armstrong, piano;  Clarence Washington, bass;   Don Hooker, drums  and Ava 
Dupree, vocals.
 
Hot food and a full bar are available.  Admission $10, members $7,  
performing musicians and under 12 free.
