I had the pleasure of playing a show with Red in the mid-80s.

He mentioned something about Chinese tuning, and all of us in the big band wondered what that was about.  Now it makes sense...

He did mention the "Albino Red" story too, as featured in the Eastwood film "Bird".  He was another class act that I'm grateful to have met and played with, albeit 
briefly.
