Good question Marek: Think of it this way. There are now several jazz
venues in NYC that are presenting OKOM on a regular basis. For
example, Birdland with David Ostwald's Centennial Jazz Band, Arthur's
Tavern with the Grove Street Stompers, Sofia's with Vince Giordano's
Nighthawks, Ear Inn with Jon Erik Kellso and friends, Gotham Jazzmen
at Bruno Walter Auditorium (Sept thru June), various Swing bands at
The Red Blazer on 37th Street, etc., and now Feinstein's.

The above is an incomplete listing, but gives you some indication of
what is happening in the NYC area. There are many more nightclubs that
feature other jazz genres. About 100 or so that advertise some sort of
jazz. Many are listed in "Jazz Inside" magazine, a monthly NY
publication.

Interested listmates may download the April copy of Jazz inside as a
64 page pdf at:

http://jazzinsidemagazine.com/publications/guide/april-2011

If you download it, check out the events calendar starting on page 15,
and the jazz venue listings on page 26 to and 27.

Feinstein's is VERY UPSCALE. like the Supper Clubs in NYC 50-60 years
ago. Where top acts like Sinatra or Johnny Mathis, would appear.
Hopefully it will attract enough of an audience to support the jazz
acts.

Interested folks can see their music calendar at
