[Dixielandjazz] New Jazz Venue in NYC

Wow!
Haven't heard of norman Simmons since the1976 Nice festival, when  he
was practically everywhere.
Does a new jazz venue mean jazz is coming back?  In the meantime, it
seems to be less and less popular in Europe, in particular in Germany.
 Until a year or so ago, the German SAT 3 channel featured jazz thrice
a week - Friday night, Saturday night and Wednesday night.  True, not
always OKOM, byt nevertheless - quite a lot.  Nowadays it hardly
features any jazz at all.
On a more positive note - at tonight's jazz evening we heard Teddy
Buckner, Martin Taylor (for those who don't know - a British guitar
player, one of the very best playing anywhere today), Teddy Buckner,
The Boll Weevil Jazz Band and an all star group with  Scott Hamilton
and Warren Vache.  To honour the Scott Taylor, we had some Lagavullin
to go with our jazz.
