[Dixielandjazz] Oscar Peterson honored

Sorry, Hans..........I was not aware of Oscar's vocalizing and will
definitely make an
effort to seeing what I can find and give a listen to.........I'm behind
last year's pace with
Amazon anyway so I guess this might be as good excuse as any to "take it up
a notch".

Possibly too much of a similarity to Cole held him back from being widely
recognized in that area.

I think of others whose vocal styling closely resembled Nat's.  There was
Earl Grant, who was
not much more than a "one-hit wonder" with a Decca single called "The End"
and several early
Ray Charles recordings could very easily have been mistaken for Cole as
well.

And, of course we can not forget his brother Freddie Cole.
