I one time met Bob Nabors and  said, "Your book seems to be everywhere. 
  I've even seen it in bands overseas, so they must have gotten it while 
they were in California at the Sacramento Jubilee.  (and they had).  
So, Bob, have you made any money on it ?"  His response was that he'd 
put 2 kids through college.  Not bad for a 
hand-written-self-published-word-of-mouth  publication.  Probably not 
possible to duplicate that feat today.
I personally used that book as my bible on every gig, and still go to 
gigs with it, as do many trad musicians.
