Don,

I have seen messages posted to DJML that have gone on for pages of  
esoteric lecturers on minor points. A  "Hey you kids get off my lawn"  
reaction to a rock performance at the Super Bowl is what I read in  
Bob's posting.

"Things have really sunk to a new low..."  seems like a critical  
comment on the state of popular music - not just the volume level. The  
same was  said many times about that "radical" Ragtime and Jass music  
in the early 1900s...
