resulting in increased record sales.

('twas a wedding, not coronation!)

I was speaking with tongue in cheek! I would never expect a boost in our
locally only sold cd's from that, and was just having some fun when I posted
that remark earlier! In fact, we didn't know what the gig was for when it
was booked, ...for security reasons. Then, we were sworn to secrecy (not
even your wife!), and had to sign off any rights to tv, videos, etc. We are
featured in a memorial video that was widely sold.

The Who are only getting 7 minutes? We got about 10 minutes on screen, plus
our music was being broadcast the whole time the motorcade took place....,
about an hour. Our band name was on the screen below the band, plus a
commentator gave the full history of the band & all our names! We were
given complete coverage as the cameras were just waiting for the motorcade &
didn't have anything better to focus on! :>

We did the gig just like it were any other, although the security was very
high. There were at least 50 policemen in front of the bandstand! We
entertained the masses that were lined along the route of the motorcade for
about 2 hours. Drenching rain. We were under cover, but the people on the
street weren't. They were very wet! Large stage with rock & roll
amplification! Bubble machines filled the streets with bubbles, which kind
of worked inspite of heavy rain!

The bride & groom came by the bandstand twice in a Rolls Royce that was a
gift from Hitler to Franco (they were buddies!). (Just tossing this in for
the historical value.)

We use the photos with the Prince & his bride as publicity when a request
comes in for a gig where we are not known, but other then that keep our
normal, comfortable low profile. We don't get any requests for free gigs,
and maintain a price tag which is in the range of all well-known Spanish pop
bands.

I sent photos out to folks on djml back when it all happened. If anyone new
would like one, just ask. Probably a world record in Dixieland Jazz
exposure...1 billion viewers.

Jim
