[Dixielandjazz] Tributes and copying

Hello,
I've just heard Ted Heath's tribute to bandleaders.  THe usual -
Goodman, Herman, Duke, Miller, Basie, Kenton, Herman, and not so usual
- Billy May, Ray Anthony, Buddy Morrow.

Instead of using the original arrangements, Heath had all the tunes
arranged by his own arrangers.  the result is a swinging record,
without copying the masters.  Sing, Sing, Sing, for example, is about
2 and a half minute long (can you imagine that?).
