Fred Burnett's Jazz North West Website (UK) gives the following information.

Diz Disley's Obituary has appeared in the Telegraph today

Both obituaries refer to his BBC career being cut short by a spell in 
prison - although they differ slightly as to the reason.  I remember hearing 
what was probably his last broadcast for a time. The authorities had turned 
up to take him away, but they let him do the broadcast first and waited in 
the studio while he did it.
