Another bit of proof of my "Fiddle Theory" has nothing to do with  
violins, but there is another sort of "Devil's Fiddle" that can cause  
some confusion among musicollollogists*:

The "Stumpf Fiddle" is also called The "Teufel Stick" (Devil's Stick)  
and is often used in old-time string, novelty and jug bands.
