[Dixielandjazz] Flying with Instruments in US

Back in 1968 my High School Pep Band went to the San Francisco Airport
(with instruments) to greet a returning senior member - we just
marched in to the gate area with no problem. We were all wearing
surplus WW2 aviator's helmets, by the way.

About 10 years later my jazz band was hired to play for the arrival of
some industrial big-wig at SFO. My tuba was closely inspected - I had
to pull out every slide and then play the horn for the security guard!
