Take lines 3 &4 together!
 I regret the day that I was born, and that man of mine I've ever seen.
and maybe it should read (change I've to I'd)
I  regret the day that I was born, and that man of mine I'd ever seen.

and the break it apart  and rearrange as:
I regret the day that I was born,  and I (also) regret that I'd ever seen 
that man of mine.,

That's the sense of it, but of course that would not fit the music.
