Truly a great series. (And it officially only went into 1945, right, Mr
Haesler?) My favorite moment is a risque one. Lee Wiley was apparently
absent for a few shows, and on her return, Eddie says that "It's nice to
have her back. It's nice to have her front, too." The audience was
genuinely shocked to the point of not knowing if it was okay to laugh
(though many did). Eddie could hear the NBC censors reaching for their
memo pads, so he quickly, and nervously, changed the subject.
