Do you listen to music for "historical" reasons, Bill?
Actually, if a band is not good, its historical value is not that
great.  However, that band was GOOD!  Although the impression I got
from "I Play as I Please" was that it was mediocre, when I finally
came across recordings of the band, or the ver early Lyttelton band,
with GEorge Webb on piano, I foud out that it was much better than
some better known bands, and certainly more enthusiastic.  Definitely
worth hearing.
Oh, yes, I endorse your Lake Records recommendation, and my
association therewith is the money I've so far invested in their LPs
and CDs!
