Oops, gotta disagree with that one.

If you have musicians who know what they are doing, know their roll in a
band, and are proficient at what they do, a tenor sax with a trombone,
making a 4-piece front line, is great!

The problem arises when you have musicians who are not competent.

Example of tenor sax with trombone:

Eddie Miller, Bud Freeman.

More recently, Harry Allen.

There are plenty of others around also.
