The other day Ed Coltrin wrote about seeing and listening to Duke
Ellington and Ivie in San Frncisco in 1942 and said "My most memorable
song was, "Rocks in my Bed", plus all the other tunes she rendered."
Dear Ed, you lucky old lurker you.
Duke recorded that one with His Famous Orchestra in Hollywood on 26
Sept 1941, not long before you heard it.

Greer (d) Ivie Anderson, (v). It was a Billy Strayhorn arrangement.
I wish I had been there, but I wuz only ten.
I'm playing it now.
Magnificent Hodges intro solo and fine Barney throughout behind Ivie.
It has been reissued on CD if you want to check around.
