[Dixielandjazz] Musical non-readers, can you add to the list?

Hello,
At European festivals I have seen young musicians (less than half my
age, which placed them in the 20 to 32 bracket at the time) who either
could improvise or pretended - successfully - to do so, without even
lead sheets.
So perhaps jazz really has emigrated and lives happily in Europe (and
elsewhere - som of them were Australian and japanese).
