Listmates,
Let's get behind this wonderful Jazz fund raiser.
If you are anywhere near Northern California, be sure to attend.
Even if you are not nearby, or cannot attend, consider purchasing a ticket
or two so that some youth Jazz musicians may attend.

NEW ORLEANS JAZZ with EAST COAST CLASS
at an STJS concert fundraiser benefiting their
annual Trad. Jazz Youth Band Festival (TJYBF)
The Sacramento Traditional Jazz Society and Nelmar
Construction present Ed Polcer's East Coast All-Stars
at a fundraiser for the annual Trad. Jazz Youth Band
Festival. The "Long Live JAZZ" concert features
nationally-known musicians Wycliffe Gordon from New Orleans
(and of the Lincoln Center Orch.) and tenor saxophonist
Houston Person as part of a sextet performing classic jazz
and swing for dancers and listeners alike. Bandleader
and cornetist Ed Polcer hires only the best musicians for
his nationwide tours. For many years, he was co-owner of
the famous Eddie Condon's Jazz Club in New York City, and
he has performed for President Clinton at the White House
and for the King of Thailand in Bangkok. The East Coast
All-Stars will perform at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2008
at Christ Unity Church in Sacramento, then teach a
jazz-ensemble clinic at Rio Americano High School on
Wednesday morning.
Radio host George Esposito will emcee the concert that is
underwritten by Nelmar Construction and sponsored by KXJZ,
Arbors Records "Statesmen of Jazz," Midtown Stomp, Jazzdagen
Tours, The American Rag, and supported by Savanna's Sunday
Evening Jazz.
