If you happen to find yourself in San Francisco and
want to hear some Traditional Jazz (or Dixieland, or
Ragtime, or New Orleans Jazz...) a really great
resource is Rae Ann's Bay Area Hot Jazz Guide which

Rae Ann has done a really great job of compiling a
list of all the area bands that have steady gigs and
if you are so inclined you can see something just
about every night of the week.  She's constantly
updating it with the latest info (Although she does
request that you call the venue to confirm the gig
which is always a good idea!).  And as a new feature
she's added video clips of many of the bands and
venues so you can have a little 'preview' before you
go.  Even if you're not planning on a trip to the Bay
Area check out her videos on YouTube (So far she's
posted 119!!) to get a glimpse into the Bay Area Jazz
