[Dixielandjazz] Spiralfrog playback update.

As Bill pointed out in an earlier post, the Spiralfrog downloaded files
are indeed protected to prevent you from sharing the files off the
computer you downloaded them on. Thus although you can save the files to
external media like any other files, they are not playable from the
disk. Spiralfrog conveniently gives you a window stating that the
playback codes are "missing" and suggests that since the downloads are
free, for someone on another computer to simply go to the site, register
and download them. Fair enough at the cost. Free.

So the advice would be that if you want to listen to them on another
computer, just download them to that computer. If you really feel you
can only listen to music if it is on a portable disk, for your car etc,
then use one of the alternate methods, hopefully legal, to save the
audio. There are several programs out there that will do this.

The quality of the audio after doing that is not good enough for you?
If so, you are probably one of those who buys your CD's from one of
those companies that specializes in CD's for your trained or sensitive
ears, and you are probably not interested in Spiralfrog or the
conversion programs anyway. Sorry I bothered you on list. Delete.
