Well, well, well,

You should hear this week's "Riverwalk Jazz," devoted to the music of Paul
Whiteman (one show to which I listen regularly). To my ears, even better
than last weeks (and that one was devoted to Jelly Roll Morton), and perjaps
the BEST in a long time Cheers!

Thank you Marek. I was the one that did the research on that show, which was
based on the fairly recent book on Whiteman "Paul Whiteman, Pioneer in
American Music: Volume 1, 1890-1930," by Don Rayno. Despite decades of bad
press, the author uncovers the truth about Whiteman and his proper place in
the evolution of American pop music, esp. jazz. Highly recommended. Vince
Giordano is quoted often as a source, and both he and the author knew Bill
Challis personally. And Vince appears on the show itself along with
violinist Andy Stein.

The charts on Back In Your Own Back Yard and Beautiful Changes have actual
Challis elements incorporated and adapted for the JCJB by John Sheridan.
