"Joe Ascione is a beloved, versatile drummer who has appeared with many
all-star groups at events throughout NJ and NYC over the years.  He is
dealing with MS -- challenge enough for a drummer cited as "the fastest drum
roll in the world" -- but a recent hand injury has put him out of action
completely."

"He was unable to fulfill his commitment to NJJS's JazzFest earlier this
month, but an impromptu collection taken up spontaneously by the audience
was gratifying to him, and will be a help with the medical bills and his
living expenses until he can play drums again."

to help out until he can play drums again?
