Hi Marek,

I hate to start an argument, but if Bix was just another Dixieland player, 
then why is he still remembered?

I believe that it has to do with his choice of notes as well the material 
and the combination of players that were on the records, and the 
arrangements.

Why did Lester Young carry a 78 copy of "Singin The Blues" around with him 
for many years?

It was the musicality, the ability to improvise, the material, and many 
other factors that made the difference, in my opinion.

Read about him and listen; then you might understand what made it great.
