Ah, but Don, accordions DO float -- at least for a short while. (Don't
ask how I know that!)

This serves two functions:
1)  It gives the accordionist hope.
2)  It ultimately defeats that hope.

Washboards, unfortunately, have proven to be incredibly durable,
having survived countless vicious attacks.
