Now that is fine Bob, and a whole lot different than playing for a
fundraiser for somebody for free when everything else is being paid for.
That Radio or TV show is not only great promotion for you it is also
quite possibly tax deductible if you do it correctly and you can also
sell CDs from it, so it is then deductible as paid advertising if you
handle it correctly on your schedule C business return.
Cheers,
Tom Wiggins

Subject: [Dixielandjazz] Playing For Free
Listmates,
While I usually do not go out & play for free, one major exception I
always
make is doing TV & radio. Where else can you play & get exposure to
thousands, possibly hundreds of thousands, of people at one time?
Promotion is promotion. Take advantage of the promotion that benefits
you.

In the 60's, people took LSD to make the world weird. Now the world is
weird
and people take Prozac to make it normal.
