[Dixielandjazz] phono amplifier??

The output from the turntable could be put through another amp to boost the
signal. Do NOT attach it to the "phono" (if there is one) of the amp but to
"aux" or any other input.
In the days before they put amps (pre-amps mainly) in turntables they had to
boost the signal to the same level as put out by tapes, radios etc. They put
in the phono input so that a pre-amp could boost the signal to a level that
meant the amp itself could treat all the signals it received in the same
way.
