I know what you mean.  I periodically go in to complain that the 
turntable I bought in '92 for $99 is still $99.  Electronics are 
supposed to depreciate like mad; so what's wrong with turntables?  Same 
prices hold even at Circuit City.

So, the time you asked for a phono needle, what did they say?  I've 
bought several there...,
