[Dixielandjazz] Music in Modesto, CA Sunday, May 21st

The Modesto Dixieland Jazz Society will present
Traditonal Jazz Band de Brasil from Sao Paulo, Brazil,
as the guest band for its monthly meeting on May 21st
from noon to 5:00 p.m.  The meeting is at Club Maxx
inside the DoubleTree Hotel in Modesto at 9th and K
Streets.  Admission is $10.

Later that day at 7:00 p.m. Ernie Bucio and The
Barkin' Dog Grill will present a Tribute to Rodney
Richardson, bass player in Count Basie's All American
Rhythm Section, who died late last year.  Ernie
Bucio's Little Big Band will perform classic Basie
tunes including Shiny Stockings, Li'l Darlin',
Deedles, One O'clock Jump, Blues in Hoss' Flat, Moten
Swing, Corner Pocket.  Rodney's daughter, Michelle
will be singing and Rodney's grandson John will
perform "Makin' Whoopee" on the tuba.  The Barkin' Dog
is at 940 11th Street in Modesto.  Admission is $8
general, $5 students/seniors.
