Now you've done it Ollie, this is another fine mess you've gotten us into.

I whole heartedly agree with you. Monk swings. But then, what do you expect
from a stride pianist whose earliest mentor was a neighbor on San Juan Hill
NYC, (now Lincoln Center) the veritable James P. Johnson? IMO, Lots of Monk
tunes make for some wonderful Dixieland. Their short interval style as I
hear it is clearly related to the earliest forms of jazz and are clearly not
bebop as so many folks opine. Harmonics? That's a different matter as Monk
was Monk. In that department, like Bix, . . . an individualistic genius

Anachronic is a wonderful band. Thanks for posting these and bringing back
some memories of both Monk & Anachronic.
