Even though they may lack the feel of the original recordings, I think 
it's wonderful that Wynton is doing these tracks. He may be the only 
prominent young black musician to recognize and pay tribute to his 
heritage, and his efforts may be the only thing that will establish in 
the minds of young musicians any legitimacy for OKOM.

It would great if Wynton's 'trad' arrangements were published and if 
school music directors purchased them as part of their stage band 
library. Having one or two of such numbers in their concerts would 
certainly please some of the older audience, and playing and hearing 
'trad' would not irreparably damage the young musicians.
