Hello all

I've discovered that there is a link between "Good night and good luck" and
"New Orleans" - two movies discussed recently on our list.

"New Orleans" was produced by Herbert J. Biberman, who was one of the
"Hollywood Ten," a group of directors, producers, writers and actors who
were blacklisted after refusing to state their political alliances during
testimony before the House Committee on Un-American Activities (HUAC).
After being charged with contempt of Congress, Biberman served six months
in jail.

Biberman's tribulations predate the setting of "Good night and good luck"
but the link is interesting. Does anyone know if any jazz musicians were
caught up in the HUAC proceedings?
