Dear Larry,
I doubt it.
'New Orleans' the film was made in Aug-Oct 1946.
'Imitation of Life' with Claude Colbert was made in 1934.
The film you have in mind is the 1959 remake of 'Imitation of Life' with
Lana Turner.
The members of the marching band (not heard on the soundtrack) in this later
film included Teddy Buckner, Andrew Blakeney, Ed Garland (snare drum) George
Orendorf, Joe Darensbourg and Mike De Lay. Seen but not heard!
Mahalia Jackson sings "Trouble of The World".
Very kind regards,
Bill.
