Steve Barbone writes in part

Just a quick note about under amplifying. You sometimes have to compete with
all sorts of extraneous noise from both within the parade and along the
route. So, a word to the wise is BE PREPARED to ramp up your sound.

[TD]We arrived for a July 4 parade gig last year and were told that a . . .
Believe it or not . . . Synchronized lawn mower troupe was just ahead of us
in the line of march!!

[Steve]So, it doesn't hurt to be prepared. Otherwise, you just blow your
brains out to no avail.

[TD]we were prepared to blow our brains out, but, fortunately, the group
never showed up.

Regards,

Tom
