Dear Stan,
I agree with all you say.
The proof is there in the recollections in early jazz books, as indicated by
Randy.

> Fats Waller recorded with Nat Shilkret's Rhyth-Melodists in which both whites
and blacks were in the band. <
It has now been established that Fats could not be on the 2 March 1928
Victor 21298 record of "Chloe/When You're With Somebody Else" (recalled by
Shilkret to Brian Rust in 1963 as having Fats on organ).
Playing them now. It is certainly the Camden organ beloved by Fats, but
certainly not him - to my ears.
You can also add to the list the great Bubber Miley 1929-31 Vitaphone short
and records with Leo Reisman and His Orchestra, available on an early French
RCA LP and just reissued on a Vintage Music Productions CD - 'Bubber Miley'
VMP 0161.

> Benny Goodman and Buster Bailey took lessons from Franz Schoep.<
So also did Jimmie Noone.

Kind regards,
Bill.
