Bill, it varies depending on
1. Who needs to hear the piano or banjo to
     get the chords right (and which of them HAS the right chords)
2. Who (among the rhythm section itself takes rhythmic leads from
     which other member of the rhythm section. -- In some
     of our groups the tuba and banjo need to be near one another
   - in others, it matters not.
